I am a WARRIOR!

Yea you read that right! I am a warrior! No, I am not a warrior princess. I am a Fitness Warrior! I am so excited to join the Sports Backers, Keep It Moving initiative by becoming a member of the 4th class of Fitness Warriors!

What is a Sports Backers?
During the past 25 years, Sports Backers, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has developed programs and events that are designed to inspire people from all corners of our community to live actively.  We achieve this work by focusing on a network of collaborative partnerships with other organizations, businesses, local governments and faith based institutions.  In order to have transformational change, we realize we can’t do it all alone, but rather we work to build a movement of change in our community to make active living the easy choice.

I have run several of their races and have always loved what the brand, Sports Backers,  stood for. Through my running adventures and linking up with  several women in the community I had the pleasure of meeting several Fitness Warriors. I also got to experience them last year at the Corporate 4 miler where they lead a group warm up.

When the opportunity came up to apply for this years Fitness Warrior class my heart was dedicated and my hands followed  along. I was raised to believe that it takes a community, a village to raise a child. I was raised that the health of the community was my responsibility and if i had the ability it was my duty to help those less fortunate. My father instilled a huge love of community in me and although I am over 500 miles from the community that built me up, I am right here in the community that will affect the lives of my children. I want them to have better than I did so i know that I must help my community.

Fitness Warriors will allow me to give back and help the community in a huge way. I'll give of my time and my kind heart to those willing to join me in a free workout session! Free, Free.. how awesome is that?!?

What is the Fitness Warriors program?
While some of us may have cheaper gym memberships than others, or a park closer to our homes than others, all of us deserve opportunities to get healthy and stay in shape. And all of us could use a little encouragement, a little coaching and support to get there.  Sports Backers’ Fitness Warriors are that voice of encouragement and support for our communities that could use it most.

Kill Gym Funk with Vinegar!

Vinegar and gym funk? Say what! Yup Vinegar can kill gym funk. If you've been in the kitchen, watched Doctor Oz or ever did research on losing weight you've heard the word vinegar before. Health nuts drink the red type. Red vinegar is actually used by a number of naturalist to clean their hair and flush fat. White vinegar was a staple in my childhood as my mom used it to clean chicken, wash mirrors and windows and after one trip to Canada, wash clothes. Those of you in the laundry business know what I am talking about. My mom's cousin owned his own laundry mat in Ontario, Canada. One summer changed the course of laundry in my home. Uncle Carl, as I called him, told mom he placed white vinegar in the washing machines to help brighten and whiten the clothes. Over the years I got away from using vinegar on all my loads but recently came back to it. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider using vinegar in your laundry, especially your gym clothes today. 1. Ki
