6 days and counting...

1 week is all I have left and I will be facing 13.1 miles in Historic Petersburg, VA.The same streets I walked as a college student brand new to the south. Even running through some of the places I once lived, partied and ran before. To think I will pass some of the same areas in which I've documented  with my then 6 year old for her cousin's "Flat Snai" project. It's exciting to finally run a place I once called home, a place I feel familiar with.

All that said I'm still kinda nervous about running 13.1 miles again. I know I physically can do it. I have faith that mentally I will find the inner endurance to silence the negative thoughts and push through but I am still nervous. In trying to shake the nerves of the Richmond Half is what got me here in the first place. So although I'm trying to the calm the noise I won't be doing anything too drastic.

In taking on this race, The Petersburg Halloween Half Marathon,  it challenged me creatively. It is the first time that I have to think about not only a costume but one that I can run in. So I played around with a ton of ideas. I have a batman shirt, my normal go to for a quick Halloween look, but it's cotton and I don't want to compromise my run. Last night after my 9mile run. I sat bored, after stretching and eating of course lol.  I'm a Gemini and boredom and I are not friends. Don't ask me but for some reason when I get bored I get girly. I grabbed my makeup bag and took to YouTube...

Simple. Halloween. Makeup... yielded tons of women doing Sugar skulls or Day of the Dead makeup. I like the concept and I found one that I thought I could do so I gave it a try.

Now I have to do a test run with it to see if it will mess with my run at all! Then I can perfect the art a little better. Prayerfully this is it!

Kill Gym Funk with Vinegar!

Vinegar and gym funk? Say what! Yup Vinegar can kill gym funk. If you've been in the kitchen, watched Doctor Oz or ever did research on losing weight you've heard the word vinegar before. Health nuts drink the red type. Red vinegar is actually used by a number of naturalist to clean their hair and flush fat. White vinegar was a staple in my childhood as my mom used it to clean chicken, wash mirrors and windows and after one trip to Canada, wash clothes. Those of you in the laundry business know what I am talking about. My mom's cousin owned his own laundry mat in Ontario, Canada. One summer changed the course of laundry in my home. Uncle Carl, as I called him, told mom he placed white vinegar in the washing machines to help brighten and whiten the clothes. Over the years I got away from using vinegar on all my loads but recently came back to it. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider using vinegar in your laundry, especially your gym clothes today. 1. Ki
