Breathe Again

Hello OCTOBER!!! The leafs go wild, " awww, roooooooooooaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr!" The breeze is here, the sun is taking its seat in the background as fall springs itself upon us all.  Runners paradise.. well at least this asthmatic runner's paradise.

I've not only put the chest cold behind me, well as behind me as it can be as its effects still linger in my lungs, I've also put summer's heat behind me and now I'm praying for some strong tail winds as I start some serious work in preparation for the race on November 12th. " What does that all mean?," well I'm glad you asked lol.

This is my first American Family Fitness (Richmond) Half Marathon. I've heard so many good things about this race. I mean when the marathon  connected to it is deemed the " Friendliest Marathon" how can you not be excited right, wrong. In all my research about this race the Bryan Park Loop is going to be well.. a beast. I've heard it's a loop full of rolling hills and well the idea of rolling hills at the halfway mark of a half marathon just doesn't get my engines revving as my finish isn't my strongest.

However, like every other obstacle it seems like an adventure to me. The thing I'd love to do is get out there and run it. The issue is finding the time to make the hour drive to the city. Then factor in running at least 2 or three times and then driving home. Perfect if it was just me and I wasn't a mom of two little angels. Well either way I'll be planning a drive to the city to map out my parking for race day as it'll be solo trip.. I wonder if I can convince the family that this Sunday would be the perfect day to head up there. My husband I'm 'sure would love nothing more than to figure out how to entertain the kiddos solo for an hour or so lol

SN: I slipped again, I'm trying to do better with this writing thing. I'm working on it... but you know what I do do .. and a lot.. Post on IG.. Check me out @HerbNRun for all my running post and @LadiEnvi25 for my pre blogging and personal stuff.

Kill Gym Funk with Vinegar!

Vinegar and gym funk? Say what! Yup Vinegar can kill gym funk. If you've been in the kitchen, watched Doctor Oz or ever did research on losing weight you've heard the word vinegar before. Health nuts drink the red type. Red vinegar is actually used by a number of naturalist to clean their hair and flush fat. White vinegar was a staple in my childhood as my mom used it to clean chicken, wash mirrors and windows and after one trip to Canada, wash clothes. Those of you in the laundry business know what I am talking about. My mom's cousin owned his own laundry mat in Ontario, Canada. One summer changed the course of laundry in my home. Uncle Carl, as I called him, told mom he placed white vinegar in the washing machines to help brighten and whiten the clothes. Over the years I got away from using vinegar on all my loads but recently came back to it. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider using vinegar in your laundry, especially your gym clothes today. 1. Ki
